This Friday 11 September, the Fastway Couriers team will wear crazy combinations of shoes for ‘Odd Shoe Day’ to raise awareness and donations for local children’s cancer charity, Camp Quality New Zealand.
Camp Quality is a volunteer-driven organisation that has been operating for almost 30 years and is dedicated to enhancing the lives of thousands of young New Zealanders. Money raised will go towards the funding of annual summer camps, family days and social outings for the whole family, which provide an essential break from the cancer journey.
While Fastway depots across the country will be taking part, the charity is of particular importance to Fastway Couriers Auckland General Manager, Mark Little, whose young daughter Claudia was assisted by Camp Quality in 2009.
Mark Little, Fastway Couriers Auckland General Manager, said:
“I’d like to thank the Fastway team for getting involved and supporting this fantastic cause in the community. Camp Quality is close to the hearts of many New Zealanders, including my wife and I, after our daughter, Claudia, was diagnosed with cancer and underwent treatment.
"Odd Shoe Day is a remarkable event and encourages everyone in our community to have fun. I’d ask anyone who sees our staff in odd shoes to donate and support Camp Quality’s amazing work for children living with cancer.”
Scott Jenyns, CEO at Fastway Couriers, said;
“We’re truly inspired by what Mark and the Fastway Auckland team continue to achieve in support of this inspirational charity.”
